Anonymous asked:

How do omegas deal with unwanted people in their nests?

sunshine-omega-pack answered:

Omegas may lash out at people who try to enter or approach their nest without their permission. Pregnant Omegas are very protective of their nest and will defend it, sometimes from their own mate(s) or family.

Omegas may make sounds that are close to growling to show the person that they are feeling threatened or upset. They are less likely to attack unless they are hurt or they have pups to protect.

Moral of the story here is do not approach an Omega’s nest unless you are expressly told you can.

The Mating Run

sortingabosincebirth

Fact 90: Dancing is the main courting ritual but there was a different kind of social gathering in times before: the Mating Run.

The Mating Run is a voluntary chase where the omegas prove their prowess by running from the alphas, who prove their skill by chasing them. Those who didn’t want to participate and betas, who were not allowed to join (olden times were less inclusive of the beta population in regards to romance than they are now), watched and mingled. Packs and pack members came from miles to participate in the run.

Fact 91: It was common, expected even, for participating members to wear a ribbon or garment with the colors or symbol of their pack on it. If one were to wear no associated colors then they would be declaring themselves to be a lone wolf.

Fact 91.5: This is why it’s socially distasteful if a pack member didn’t wear their color, as they would be insulting their pack in front of everyone.

Conflict and Alphas

sortingabosincebirth

Instincts:

Alpha - Protect. Control

Beta - Co-operate. Belong in a pack. Equal relationships

Omega - care for. Be loved. Attention

(Taken from an earlier post)

Fact 48: Alphas are the most supportive of conflict within the three dynamics. Because their instinct is to protect (physically over mentally) it’s more important to win than to co-exist, and because they desire to control it makes sense they’d want to be in control of an argument or dispute and therefore less likely to compromise. Along with the understanding that betas and omegas would prefer to avoid confrontation, alphas are the most competitive of the three genders. The end lesson: some alphas are incredibly polite, but don’t mistake that to mean they’ll stand down.
